Job Description:
The Director of Nursing is a salaried position responsible for leading the nursing department at Regent Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in long-term care, supervisory experience, and excellent leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
• Plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the nursing department.
• Develops and maintains written policies and procedures governing nursing department operations.
• Maintains a reference library of nursing materials to support resident care.
• Reports to the Administrator on nursing department operations and quality assurance programs.
• Develops methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services.
• Assists in delivering training for nursing staff and all community staff.
• Serves as primary contact for suspected resident abuse, neglect, or exploitation cases.
• Oversees delivery of quality care and services to residents.
• Ensures safe working environment and reviews direct nursing care ratios daily.
• Maintains full staffing for all nursing shifts to provide highest quality resident care.
• Works closely with Infection Preventionist for infection control policies and coaching.
• Collaborates with Director of Human Resources for employee evaluations, coaching, and education.
Requirements:
• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university and a current, unencumbered active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Kansas.
• Previous long-term care experience required.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Experience leading large teams of staff and managers is highly preferred.
