Position Summary
Under the direction of the Administrator or Business Office Manager the BOC supervises and participates directly in all aspects of the facility’s business office to include surgery scheduling, insurance verification, cash management, coding, billing, accounts receivable follow-up and patient registration. Supervise and conduct the training of business office staff as well as participate in the evaluation of staff performance. Financial end-of-month closure and reporting will be completed in a timely manner and according to Center criteria.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Demonstrate fiscal accountability for Center resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
- Incorporate quality improvement data and/or patient satisfaction data into business office goals.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of regulations applicable to patient care and Business Office functions.
- Work closely with Materials Manager to oversee and ensure accuracy of the accounts payable (AP) process, and accrual log processes.
- Provide guidance to Center leadership and staff in goal setting, problem solving, resource management, and outcome achievement.
- Develop performance objectives and metrics for the business office staff. Participate in the hiring, training, education and assessment of business office staff competence.
- Demonstrate the ability to cope with and manage change, as well as help others do the same.
- Collaborate with other Centers and RCM, as needed, to create systems and problem solve ongoing issues that impact Center goals and/or patient care delivery.
- Provide regular communication and feedback to Administrator, BOM, staff, physicians, and appropriate Regent team members.
- Demonstrate a commitment to a healthy work environment by modeling desired behaviors and encouraging those in others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- High school diploma
- Experience working in a medical office
- Strong knowledge of healthcare billing Medicare Part B claims, surgery scheduling, insurance verification, accounts receivable, cash management, coding, other insurance billing, and patient registration.
