About the role
Under the direction of the Administrator, the Clinical Director of Nursing has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the center and their effect on patient care. The Clinical Director of Nursing has authority to make decisions in the center in the areas of patient care, human resource and clinical financial management. The Clinical Director of Nursing has overall responsibility for clinical operations within the center.

Qualifications
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the nursing department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Education/Experience: Must possess a current nursing license as a Registered Nurse and have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Two years of professional nursing experience is required and a minimum of three years of experience in nursing administration or a comparable management position.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse License. ACLS and CPR certification required.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, patients and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference,
and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Skills: Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications
including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, word processing, communicate by
e-mail and use scheduling software.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Special Requirements: Must be able to work variable hours and be flexible to meet the needs of the center’s daily surgery schedule.
