Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and implementing inventory control procedures to minimize waste and ensure availability.
- Procurement: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source materials, negotiate pricing, and place orders for medical supplies and equipment as needed.
- Storage and Organization: Ensure proper storage and organization of all surgical materials, adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Maintain a clean and orderly inventory area.
- Collaboration: Work closely with surgical teams, including surgeons and nurses, to understand material needs and ensure timely availability of supplies for scheduled surgeries.
- Data Management: Utilize inventory management software to track inventory levels, usage trends, and expiration dates. Generate reports for management to support decision-making.
- Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the inventory budget, analyzing costs, and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Training and Supervision: Train and supervise inventory staff, providing guidance on best practices in inventory management and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that all materials meet safety and regulatory standards. Address any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a healthcare or surgical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, and inventory management principles.
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support inventory decision-making.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to inventory management is a plus.
