About the role
Provides direct, routine patient care and related operational support to physicians, registered nurses and/or other team members. Performs standard and routine specialty treatment procedures, patient education, and patient instruction under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
What you'll do
Role Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides technical assistance in the preparation of patients for procedures and in the setup and preparation of specialized equipment and/or instrumentation.
- Provides direct assistance, as specifically requested, to physicians and/or other patient care providers in the performance of standard medical.
- Performs routine procedures, such as record temperature, pulse, respiration rate; assists patients with walking, getting and out of bed, patient feeding and dressing under established protocols.
- Reports and records changes in condition and/or behavior of patients or unusual incidents, within scope of training.
- Assists patients with collecting data on patient’s medical histories through One Medical Passport.
- Cleans patient care rooms, changes bed linens, sterilize equipment and instruments, using sterile procedures; reports facilities and/or equipment problems.
- Orders and maintains appropriate stock levels of medical and related supplies.
- Transports medical equipment, supplies, and materials as and where needed.
- Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Organizing and coordinating skills.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Knowledge of sterile procedures.
- Ability to perform standard clinical and patient care procedures according to established protocol.
- Knowledge of specialized medical/surgical procedures, facilities, instruments, equipment and terminology, as appropriate to the specified area of specialty.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices
Qualifications
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of directly related experience which may include practicum.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent; successful completion of an accredited Nursing Technician course.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent; successful completion of an accredited Nursing Technician course.
- BCLS Certification. (Renewed every two years.)
Preferred Qualifications
- All minimum qualifications.
- At least 3 years of directly related experience which may include practicum.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must exhibit desirable trunk and extremity mobility and strength to handle objects and people safely in the activities of holding, carrying, pushing, transferring, and pulling. Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds safely. Occasional lifting may be heavy and awkward, over 50 pounds.

- In the working environment of the Center, there may be potential exposure to communicable diseases, contaminated blood and body fluids, and hazardous materials.
