About The Role
- The Surgical Technician performs technical responsibilities relative to assisting physicians with the instrumentation of surgical intervention.
- Monitors PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments.
- Participates in staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries by setting up instruments and equipment.
- Sterilize equipment and maintain an inventory of surgical supplies.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
- Provide support during surgery by passing instruments and supplies to the surgical team.
- Track surgical supplies and maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
- Stay updated on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and other team members.
- Help ensure high-quality patient care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of approved Operating Room Technical School with certification required & one or more years of experience in a surgical setting
- REQUIRED LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
