Lower School Coordinator (approximately 18 hours per week)

The Lower School Coordinator of Education is a local administrator for the Pre-K through 6th grades and assists the Center Coordinator of Education. The Lower School Coordinator oversees the day-to-day quality of the Pre-K -6th grade classroom instruction, manages and provides ongoing coaching of the lower school staff, and provides behavior and virtue formation for Lower School students. Tasks are listed below. Some travel is required; to be considered, one must be able to attend a week of training in the summer during the month of July, and attend 3 days of local training in August. This position is a part-time position, requiring work hours on Mondays/Thursdays at the local center (nursery provided) - and - Work from home 12pm-4pm Tuesday/Wednesday (Friday as needed). Work schedule is compatible for parents caring for children.
Responsibilities Include:
- Checking online gradebooks for Lower School tutors (1st-6th grades)
- Completing and documenting Formation/disciplinary visits with Lower School students (N-6th grades)
- Collecting attendance if needed
- Advising on classroom management needs for Pre-k4 and Kindergarten
- Hold bi-weekly check-in calls with lower school teachers (30 min each, remote)
- Assist with schedules for events involving the Lower School (ie. All Saints Day, Thanksgiving Feast, Advent Play)
- Assisting with Admissions tours or new Family Interviews if needed
- Substituting for the Center Administrator in the event of absence or emergency
- The Lower School Coordinator reports to the Center Administrator
Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided. Tutors are trained to provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. The ideal applicant will have strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship, and must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.
