Assistant Coach

Position Overview

Assistant Coach for the following sports: Football, Girls or Boys Basketball, Track or Baseball/Softball. Additionally, the candidate will teach in an assigned subject area, with the teaching field open to candidates certified in or pursuing certification in Math, Science, Social Studies, or English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR).

Key Responsibilities

• Support head coaches in the development and execution of practice plans, game strategies, and athlete training for assigned sports.
• Deliver engaging instruction in an assigned teaching field, adhering to Texas Education Agency standards and district curriculum.
• Foster a culture of academic excellence, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the district's educational and athletic goals.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Texas teaching certification in Math, Science, Social Studies, or ELAR, or actively working toward certification.
• Coaching experience in Football, Basketball, Track, and Baseball is a plus but not required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to student growth in academics and athletics.
  
  

Compensation And Benefits

• Starting salary $2,500 above the state base pay.
• Additional $3,000 stipend for secondary Math certification (if applicable).
• Competitive coaching stipends for each sport, aligned with area schools.
• District pays $417 towards health insurance.
