    POSITION: Music Teacher and Potential Fine Arts Instructional Leader

    LOCATION: Nonnewaug High School

    START DATE: Approximately February 25, 2025

    DEADLINE DATE: February 14, 2025

    GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsibilities include those listed below in addition to other duties as assigned by administration:

    Music Teacher
    • Utilize differentiated instructional strategies to teach a variety of music classes in grades 9-12.
    • Collaborate with teaching colleagues on grade level teams and subject area teams;
    • Demonstrate willingness to seek and act on feedback from instructional leaders, colleagues, and administrators
    • Establish and maintain frequent communication with parents
    • Evaluate student needs based on data and employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet these needs.
    • Collaborate with support staff and interventionists to develop and evaluate progress towards meeting measurable goals and objectives.
    • Participate in professional learning opportunities provided by the district and incorporate new learning into instructional practices.
    Instructional Leader
    • Coordinate Curriculum Development for music and all fine arts courses
    • Oversee the Fine Arts department including the organization of common planning time, budgeting, and course offerings
    • Analyze data to inform instruction, and share individual strategies for success
    • Collaborate with the Region 14 Director of Fine Arts in the planning and execution of all high school fine arts programming
    • Participate in NHS leadership team meetings and provide feedback on school initiatives
    • Support teachers in the implementation of curriculum and improvement in instructional practices to enhance student learning
    SALARY: Per Teacher Contract

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Music, Grades PreK-12 (049) required
    Instructional Leader- It is strongly recommended that a candidate currently hold or be pursuing a 092 (Intermediate Administration or Supervision) certification.
