General Statement Of Responsibilities
This is a FLSA exempt position. The Nursing Director is responsible for the development and implementation of the agencies nursing structure, supervising the agency’s nursing staff, coordinating schedules to ensure nursing coverage across the agency and providing appropriate supervision to staff and preceptee(s). In addition, provides quality nursing assessments and treatment for patients on various Region Ten teams. The Nursing Director provides supervision and consultation to nurses within the agency about clinical and agency policy issues that impact on clinical situations. The incumbent or delegated nursing staff provides occasional presentations for staff development or community education.
The incumbent receives supervision and consultation in regards to clinical operations of the nursing services and overall agency needs as related to nursing care. The incumbent exercises sound judgment, is cooperative, is able to work well with others, and maintains confidentiality when performing assigned duties and responsibilities. In carrying out position duties, he/she performs in accordance with applicable professional ethics, licensure standards and established Region Ten policies. The incumbent works with The Senior Director or ARS and the Medical Director to support agency policies and program needs as they relate to Nursing and specific requirements related to medical care throughout the agency.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: The Nursing Director, by licensure, training, and prior clinical/administrative experience, shall be qualified to carry out these functions and shall dedicate time to fulfill administration duties.
EXPERIENCE: The incumbent in this position must be a graduate of an accredited Nursing program and be licensed/registered to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, with at least 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience preferred. The incumbent must possess the following

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Must hold an active nursing license and be registered to practice in the state of Virginia
SALARY: The initial hourly rate is negotiable and based on education/experience.
