What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Therapist - Competency Restoration position at Region Ten?
Job Summary: Region Ten Community Services Board is seeking a qualified Clinical Therapist to assist in conducting outpatient competency restorations for defendants found incompetent to stand trial.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental health assessments and therapeutic counseling
- Provide defendant education related to court proceedings
- Communicate with stakeholders in the defendant's case
- Prepare written reports with specific court-appointed deadlines
- Stay up-to-date on Virginia state Code related to competency restoration
Requirements:
- Meet Virginia qualifications as a Qualified Mental Health Professional in Training (QMHP-T)
- Complete QMHP status and have minimum 2 years' experience in community mental health
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, Master's Level Clinicians also eligible for PRN role
Work Environment: The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment with a team of mental health professionals to provide high-quality services to individuals in need.
Schedule: PRN based on needs of the program.
