What are the responsibilities and job description for the RECEPTIONIST position at Region Vi Community Mental Health Commission?
Job Duties:
- Answer phone, receive messages for staff and disseminate employee application forms.
- Relate to clients, staff and public in a friendly/cooperative manner.
- Balance pegboard with money box and deliver money to accounting department daily.
- Assist medical records clerks with duties as assigned.
- Provide coverage for Collections Clerk during lunch, leave, or as needed.
- Unlock doors at 8:00 a.m., open phone lines, lock doors at p.m. and set phones.
- Treat individuals receiving services, family members, staff, volunteers, visitors, government agencies, and the general public with respect, dignity, and courtesy at all times. Conduct yourself in a manner which leaves a favorable impression with the public.
- Adhere to all Department of Mental Health Standards, Division of Medicaid Standards, and maintain respect for all other Life Help policies, procedures, and management decisions.
- Respect and uphold the confidentiality of individuals receiving services, their family members, colleagues, and any sensitive situations arising within the agency. Refrain from malicious gossip at all times.
- Participate in all training required for your specific position and by the agency at large.
- Perform other specific duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager/coordinator.
- Must possess leadership ability, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
I understand that I may be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including TB, AIDS and hepatitis and may be subject to emotionally upset and hostile residents, family members, etc.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in dealing with the public with good social skills
- Knowledge of general computer usage and basic typing (keyboard) skills
- Valid Mississippi Drivers License
