What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUPERVISOR-PSR position at Region Vi Community Mental Health Commission?
Job Responsibilities: Supervise program operations for county psychosocial rehabilitation program for adult mentally ill (PSR), supervise subordinate PSR staff individuals and coordinate transportation needs with staff and/or van drivers as needed.
Job Duties:
- Interview prospective departmental employees, participate in disciplinary procedures, and perform employee evaluations including recommendations for promotion.
- Insure that the PSR program complies with Minimum Standards set forth by the State Department of Mental Health.
- Assign staff individuals and supervise completion of daily billing, casework, staffing and any other duties that are required for program operation and orderly sessions for the individuals.
- Review with staff individuals the needs and progress of individuals and when necessary, make recommendations or request for assistance from other clinical services.
- Monitor all case files on a monthly basis to insure accurate reporting.
- Develop supportive employment placements as needed.
- Treat individuals receiving services, family members, staff, volunteers, visitors, government agencies, and the general public with respect, dignity, and courtesy at all times. Conduct yourself in a manner which leaves a favorable impression with the public.
- Adhere to all Department of Mental Health Standards, Division of Medicaid Standards, and maintain respect for all other Life Help policies, procedures, and management decisions.
- Respect and uphold the confidentiality of individuals receiving services, their family members, colleagues, and any sensitive situations arising within the agency. Refrain from malicious gossip at all times.
- Participate in all training required for your specific position and by the agency at large.
- Perform other specific duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager/coordinator.
- Must possess leadership ability, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including TB,AIDS and hepatitis and may be subject to emotionally upset and hostile individuals, family members, etc.
- Bachelors degree in mental health related field
- Experience working with serious mental illness
- Valid Mississippi Drivers License
