Bench repair or proprietary repair of Avionics components for Regional and Business Airframes. Avionics technicians are specialists who test, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul and re-certify an aircraft's electronic instruments and components such as; Attitude and Heading Computers, Electronic Flight Displays, Multifunction Displays, Radio Tuning Units, Control Display Units, Radio Altimeters, Weather Radars, VHF Communication Radios, VOR Navigation, Marker Beacon and Instrument Landing System Receivers, Flight Control Panels, Weather Radar Panels, Air Data Reference Panels, Flight Guidance Panels, Autopilot Panels, Linear Actuators, Power Supplies, Air Data Computers, High Voltage Power Supplies, Keyboards, Controllers, Audio Control Panels and Display Control Panels.
Avionics Bench Technicians have high attention to safety and detail. Skills include but are not limited to; reading and interpretation of blueprints, schematics and illustrated parts lists, Soldering, Printed Circuit Board repair, installation and removal of small electronic components, disassembly and reassembly of small components, cleaning, painting and use of adhesives, use of standard and specialized shop equipment such as hand tools, Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Signal Generators, Audio Analyzers, Power Supplies, Computer User Interfaces, Test Fixtures, Test Cables, Tilting Rate Tables, Radar Absorption Barrels, Air Data Test Sets, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Power Meters, Force Gauges, Milling Machine, Temperature Chambers, Digital Balancer, Test Software, Color Analyzers, Soldering Irons, Solder Suckers and Computer Maintenance Database.
Summary
This person is responsible for performing maintenance tasks in a safe manner, ensuring all work conforms to RAR requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Understanding the maintenance tasks and that the technician has no authority to deviate from provided maintenance data.
Maintaining of personal tools required for performing work as assigned.
Testing the ESD wrist strap and signing daily ESD log at the beginning of each shift prior to use.
Checking the technical data control page for its currency prior to use.
Checking test equipment calibration tag for its currency prior to use.
Ensuring the fluid dispensing containers are properly identified.
Ensuring shelf-life tags are legible and current and returning all expired or spent shelf-life sensitive materials to the designated disposition container.
Reporting directly to the supervisor any incidences of tools-equipment in poor condition, past due for calibration, out-of-date revisions, or safety issues.
Carrying out specialized maintenance tasks to many maintenance standard specified by the customer and notifying lead technician of any mistakes requiring recertification.
Contacting lead technician and awaiting instructions in the event where it is impossible to complete the maintenance task in accordance with maintenance data.
Providing feedback to supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and General Manager on training requirements, work conditions and unusual circumstances.
Keeping the technical data in good condition and returning it to proper location at the end of shift.

Conducts the preliminary, in-process and final inspections.
Records accurate inspections in all inspection areas.
Conducts receiving inspections as required.
Responsible for maintenance release of the aircraft articles.
Responsible for using and completing of inspection checklist.
Responsible for filing and retrieving the maintenance and inspection records when required.
Responsible for checking calibration tags on equipment and tools used in inspections.
Responsible for verifying publications control page before using it for inspections.
Responsible for reporting to Chief Inspector any service difficulties or SUP.
