Summary Reviews and modifies policies as needed, and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties including those of a safety sensitive nature, may be assigned.
Writes and delivers presentations to corporate officers regarding human resources policies and practices.
Educate and communicate company personnel policies and procedures to newly hired and current employees.
Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
Responsible for onboarding newly hired employees to include employee handbook overview, employment documents, and benefit enrollment.
Assist with company benefit administration to include enrollment forms, plan questions, claims resolution, and open enrollment.
Coordinates payroll deductions with payroll department with regards to employee benefits.
Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
Create and maintain complete and confidential files for each employee. Process, verify and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations and classifications.
Record and maintain data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, supervisory reports on performance, change of status, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
Establish and maintain department records and reports; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency and services performed.
Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
Responsible for investigations regarding employee grievances, or allegations of wrongdoing.
Respond to applicant inquiries in-person, over the phone and via email.
Process and review employment applications to evaluate qualifications and eligibility of applicants.
Assist in managing workers’ compensation injury claims. File reports with insurance providers, maintain accident information and monitor progress.
Respond to various information requests from governmental agencies, such as unemployment, in a timely manner.
Manages compliance with annual training as required by state and/or federal regulations.
Implementation and annual review of company pay scales in accordance with state wage and hourly laws and cost of living increases.

Education and/or Experience
SPHR or PHR required. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field in addition to SPHR or PHR preferred. Previous Human Resources experience required.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
