Custodian (2nd Shift)

E.O. Smith high school is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and thoughtful individual who can contribute to our school’s diversity through their professional roll and service to the institution.

The position is for a non certified custodian to work full time, 40 hours per week at E.O. Smith (2nd shift).

Custodian is responsible for working cooperatively with the school administration and the Building & Grounds team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Primary duties include operation of custodial equipment, interior and exterior building cleaning and other related duties
• Candidates must possess physical ability to lift heavy objects
• Demonstrates skills in human relations, communications, problem solving and maintain an clean and safe Building.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor Dumpsters to be emptied to Head Custodian or Director of building and grounds
• Primary duties include operation of custodial equipment, interior and exterior building cleaning and other related duties
• Maintain outside Ground—remove snow, weed m sweep walkways as necessary to insure staff and student safety.
• Have excellent employment related references.
• Monitor and report building concerns as identified.
• Extended use of technology included but not limited to computer training, entering in and out times and on line training
• Collaborate and coordinate with the Head Custodian & team to maintain safe clean school.
• Handle difficult situations diplomatically, and seek assistance from administration when necessary.
• Organize job priorities and make effective use of time in order to adhere to daily work loads
• Assists in maintaining schools - cleaning, inventory and maintain green cleaning building standards.
• Successful candidate subject to extensive reference check and police background investigation
• Can be part of the Union local union 1303-234 of Council 4 AFSCME,AFL-CIO
• Contributes to a positive, collegial, and collaborative culture through interactions with colleagues, parents, students, staff and visitors.

SALARY: 2024-2025 salary is $22.63-25.85 depending on shift. Minimum 60 Day probation— open until Position is filled. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
