What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing and Schedule Coordinator position at Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority?
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, coordinates and assists the ambulance billing process. Serve as the primary contact for patients and/or insurance companies regarding ambulance billing via email, mail, in-person, or phone. Will be responsible for managing staff scheduling and hours of work verification for payroll. Employee reports to the Executive Director and Assistant Director.

Maintains a working knowledge of the department's billing system software applications, including all reporting, billing, and administrative functions
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Two years of financial record-keeping, bookkeeping, and/or billing experience and office support functions for a department or medium to extensive size program, and records management and retention; prefer experience with ambulance and/or medical services billing; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations as they pertain to ambulance billing.
Knowledge of and complete and thorough understanding of HIPAA
Knowledge of healthcare financial management systems and processes
Knowledge of medical, insurance, and healthcare terminology, industry regulations, and requirements
Knowledge of supervisory and managerial techniques and processes
Skill in using computers, related software, and multiple phone line systems
Skill in oral and written communications
Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
Skill in handling conflict and uncertain situations
Skill in data analysis and problem-solving
Ability to respond to inquiries or requests from employees, department management, outside agencies, and the public
