About Us:
Established in August 2015, RESQRS (pronounced 'Rescuers') initially offered standby medical services for local sports and events. Since then, RESQRS has evolved, extending its services to include non-emergency ambulance transports, flight team transports, special operations medical standbys, and 911 'First Response' emergency medical services. With a focus on special operations ambulance standbys and emergency transportation for air medical flight teams in the Greater Pittsburgh area and surrounding regions, RESQRS is in search of highly competent and expertly skilled prehospital patient care providers.
Position Summary:
RESQRS is seeking highly skilled and competent Emergency Medical Technicians. RESQRS EMTs will be utilized in both the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) division, as well as the Non-Emergency Interfacility Transport (NEIFT) divisions with the opportunity to further cross-train into other areas of ground transportation logistics and special operations. The EMT will be a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing compassionate care and customer-valued service. In this role, you will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, assess patient conditions, provide the appropriate treatments, and maintain the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine workload includes, but is not limited to, daily vehicle inspections, equipment operational inspections, stock inventory, shift training, vehicle cleaning, and station housekeeping
- Respond promptly to dispatches and arrive at the scene safely and efficiently
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients during emergency and non-emergency medical transportation
- Appropriately administer basic life support (BLS) treatments, within the PA Scope of Practice, based on the assessment findings
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, medical personnel, and other first responders to coordinate patient care and transport
- Document all patient assessments, treatments, and interventions accurately and thoroughly in the ePCR
- Safely operate RESQRS transport units and transport patients safely to the appropriate destination
- Maintain equipment and supplies in accordance with established protocols and safety standards
- Participate in RESQRS trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in emergency medical care
- Other operational duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Preferred applicants MUST have a minimum of 2 years experience in emergency scene response as an EMT
- Positive attitude, fostering a culture of a safe and productive work environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate care and serving the community with integrity and professionalism
- Ability to maintain composure and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations
Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting
- Must be able to drive for extended periods of time under non-emergent and emergent conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs individually & 100 pounds with assistance
- Pass pre-employment drug testing
Required Education and Clearances:
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid PA DOH certification (EMT); or NREMT
- EVDT/EMSVO & CPR (current)
- NIMS 100/200/700/800
- Pass a criminal background check (PATCH)
- Pass FBI fingerprinting clearance & Child Abuse Clearance (CWIS)
- Have a clean driving record & insurable by company commercial auto carrier
- 5 years of unrestricted driving experience – Required
- Must be able to complete candidacy “Introductory Period” precepting for skills verification and be released by RESQRS Medical Director
Shift:
- 12 hour shifts
- Overtime may be required
Compensation:
- $21.50 - $22.75 per hour
