What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Regional Food Bank?
Qualifications: Associate’s in accounting or 2 years general bookkeeping or accounts payable experience preferred, excellent attention to detail, computation and organizational skills; Excel and other financial software experience required.
Physical Requirements: This position works in a typical office setting but may be
exposed to extreme temperatures in a warehouse setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. This position would normally have routine opportunities to alter physical position or change eye focus. Lifting should not normally exceed 30 pounds.
Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, for administering and processing accounts payable, all aspects of billing/collections, preparing journal entries and posting to the general ledger, cash accounting including receipts and bank reconciliation, and producing various accounting and financial reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Codes and processing of all accounts payable.
2. Assists in month-end reporting and work papers.
3. Tracks receipt of W-9’s from vendors and codes in the system.
4. Prepares annual 1099’s.
5. Files Highway Use Tax returns online monthly.
6. Files fuel rebates.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
8. Keeps privileged/confidential information in the strict confidence.
