What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Receiving Coordinator position at Regional Food Bank?
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school or equivalency diploma. Good organizational, communication and planning skills. Must be available to work day hours and have the ability to obtain and maintain forklift and food safety certifications. Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred.
Physical Requirements: This position works in a typical warehouse setting and will be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions. There will be extended periods of standing, bending, lifting, balancing, and handling materials. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. This position will require the safe use of power equipment. Employee should have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Position Summary: Assists Volunteer Coordinators with warehouse duties and supports warehouse operations as needed.
Duties and Responsibilites:
1. Unloads trucks and independently sorts donations into broad categories.
2. Processes new donations, records donations on receiving sheets, and uses forklift to place in appropriate racks.
3. Assists the Volunteer Coordinators with warehouse duties, as needed.
4. Works with volunteers and staff in other areas of the operation as needed.
5. Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
6. Inspects power equipment prior to use.
7. Follows all safety standards and procedures.
8. Works independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank.
9. Adheres to the Food Bank’s Employee Code of Conduct.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
