We are looking to hire a part-time Catering Associate you will be responsible for utilizing the principles of nutrition, preparing patient trays for all diets, delivery and pickup of trays, special requests and needs, in-between meal food delivery and dish/pot washing. Communicates with co-workers and coordinator.
- As a Catering Associate at MercyOne, you will be responsible for utilizing the principles of nutrition, preparing patient trays for all diets, delivery and pickup of trays, special requests and needs, in-between meal food delivery and dish/pot washing. Communicates with co-workers and coordinator. .
- Utilizes nutrition principles to prepare and assemble appropriate patient trays according to patient's menu on tray ticket in a timely and accurate manner. Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are meant within guidelines of diet order limitations. Informs dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets, have a calorie count ordered or special requests.
- Interacts with Nursing to ensure patients' diet prescriptions are accurate, and patients' food needs are met.
- Contributes to patient satisfaction goals by providing quality service. Exhibits a "wow experience" with patients when introducing the Catering to You program, taking menu selections, delivering trays, inquiring during catering rounds and retrieving trays. Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients and visitors.
- Completes catering rounds after passing trays to inquire if patient needs anything else. Is responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks including dishwashing, pot washing, general sanitation and cleaning and use of kitchen equipment.
- Evenings, 4p-8p, 10 hours per week, schedule may vary.
- Prior experience working in the field of institutional food service/health care food service preferred, but not required.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with adults.
- Ability to work as a team member and to work independently.
- Must possess high integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Must be able to cope effectively with stressful situations and time constraints.
- Completion of high school or GED is preferred but not required.
