What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Tech - MLT-MT- PRN (hours vary) position at Regional Health Services of Howard County?
POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for either a MLT or MT to join our Laboratory Team! The MLT or MT performs a variety of microscopic, chemical, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs routine testing in serology, hematology, chemistry and microbiology. Performs quantitative and qualitative procedures in accordance with written requisition of physician. May tend automatic equipment, such as diluting-titrating machine, blood cell counter, and spectrophotometer. Incubates culture. Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains. Maintains laboratory stock. May collect specimens from patients. Keeps detailed records of all tests performed and reports to authorized personnel.
*This position is PRN with varied hours every 2 weeks*
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in science required.
- MT: Board of Registry MT (ASCP, MT (AMT) or equivalent highly encouraged
- MLT: Board of Registry MLT (ASCP) or equivalent highly encouraged.
- Membership and active participation in professional organization desirable.
- Previous lab experience is preferred.
- BLS (CPR) certified or obtained within 3 months of employment.
