Cleans and maintains all assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary and attractive manner in accordance with required accreditation and industry standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment and transports to designated work area.
- Cleans assigned areas in accordance with accreditation and industry standards. Tasks include, but not limited to, cleaning walls, floors, dusting, buffing, polishing, scrubbing, moving furniture, waste removal, laundry/linen duties and other tasks as directed.
- Cleans and maintains equipment.
- Maintains good relationships with patients, visitors and colleagues.
- Plans and utilizes time well.
- Uses initiative in performing duties.
- Demonstrates professional attitude and behavior by maintaining acceptable work habits including, but not limited to, dependability, punctuality, and appropriate behaviors.
- Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and continuing education by attending all department meetings, completing learning modules and reading all applicable e-mails or other communications.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patient, employee, and hospital matters
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to consistently meet the department work schedule.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing and be able to follow instructions.
- Must have manual and physical ability to perform such tasks as general cleaning, terminal cleaning, linens and waste removal.
