Description
Regional Hospice is looking for licensed Certified Nurses' Aides to work with patients in the Center for Comfort Care and Healing.
We are looking for full time 36 hours, day/night shift combination. We offer a generous benefits package including: Vision, Medical, Life, Dental, 401K Match, Vacation/Sick Time.
- Knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for each patient, providing individualized attention to maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing.
- Assists patient with personal care activities including, but not limited to, assisting with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, toileting, incontinence care, etc.
- Frequently assists patient with physical movement activities including, but not limited to, ambulation, transferring, range of motion.
- Provides care that maintains each patient’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears and other damage by changing incontinent patients, turning, repositioning, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin and other areas.
- Consistently practices safe body mechanics, utilizing lifting equipment as necessary.
- Takes and records patient temperature and pulse.
- Observes patient for changes in condition or behavior and promptly notifies RN of such changes.
- Responds to patient call bells promptly and courteously.
- Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of patients in the delivery of care, interacting in a manner that displays warmth and caring.
- Provides nourishment to patient; setting up for meals, assisting, feeding as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- CNA training required with documentation of successful completion of training and competency evaluation, leading to certification. The Program must be approved by the Connecticut Department of Public Health
- One-year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- One-year experience with hospice/end of life care experience preferred
- Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Assistant (CHPNA) preferred
