Job Summary
The Director, Same Day Surgery oversees the strategic and operational management of the Same Day Surgery department and its affiliated service lines. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring patient safety, compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The Director provides oversight for departmental operations, financial management, staff development, and the implementation of performance improvement initiatives to achieve excellence in surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Essential Functions
- Provides day-to-day oversight and management of the Same Day Surgery department, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to established protocols.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates policies, procedures, and standards of care to enhance clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Analyzes departmental performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices to optimize care delivery.
- Manages staffing, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce.
- Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and seamless patient experiences.
- Develops and manages the department's annual budget, monitoring expenditures and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising care quality.
- Provides leadership in quality improvement initiatives, setting measurable goals and driving efforts to achieve them.
- Participates as a key member of the perioperative services leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree In Nursing required
- Master's Degree In Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
- 5-7 years of clinical experience in surgical services required
- 3-5 years of progressive nursing management and leadership experience required

Licenses and Certifications
