Job Summary
The Manager, Wound Care oversees the daily operations and clinical activities of the Wound Care department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role provides leadership in patient care coordination, staff development, and operational efficiency while driving performance improvements and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Manager collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, employee engagement, and departmental success.
Essential Functions
- Supervises and evaluates the nursing care provided within the department, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices and organizational standards.
- Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures, and practice standards to support quality and safety outcomes.
- Analyzes departmental data to identify trends, improve patient satisfaction, and implement targeted improvement initiatives.
- Leads staff development efforts, including onboarding, training, and performance evaluations, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Collaborates with other departments to address operational challenges, improve interdepartmental communication, and support program planning and implementation.
- Oversees budget management, resource allocation, and departmental growth, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Performs patient case reviews and resolves issues promptly, ensuring patient satisfaction and safety.
- Implements tactical action plans and establishes individual goals to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Monitors and evaluates performance metrics, engaging staff in proactive risk mitigation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
- 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience required
- 2-4 years of leadership experience preferred

- In-depth knowledge of wound care practices, treatment modalities, and regulatory standards.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage staff and oversee operations effectively.

- Proficiency in budget management and resource planning.
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) required
- CWCN - Certified Wound Care Nurse preferred
