Job Summary
The Correctional Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. Duties
- Supervise and monitor the activities of inmates to ensure compliance with facility rules.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to maintain security and safety.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations.
- Maintain accurate records and report writing regarding inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities.
- Operate surveillance equipment such as CCTV to monitor inmate movements and activities.
- Enforce policies and procedures to promote a secure environment for staff and inmates.
- Assist in the rehabilitation process by providing guidance and support to inmates when appropriate.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as necessary during incidents or investigations.
Skills
- Proficient in CPR and First Aid; certification preferred.
- Strong background in law enforcement or related fields is advantageous.
- Excellent report writing skills for documenting incidents clearly and accurately.
- Effective conflict management skills to handle potentially volatile situations calmly and professionally.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems for monitoring purposes.
- Ability to work in a militarized environment, demonstrating discipline and adherence to protocols.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.54 - $25.00 per hour
