Mechanical/Plumbing Detailer
Job Summary:
As a Mechanical/Plumbing BIM / VDC Detailer, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by creating detailed plans and drawings for mechanical and plumbing systems. You will work closely with project team to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specification and collaborate with design team to resolve all issues discovered through review and coordination of building systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creating complete, constructible mechanical & plumbing models for installation and pre-fabrication.
- Interfacing with and supporting the project teams. This includes project management, field supervision, and fabrication team.
- Attending coordination meetings with other trades while utilizing Navisworks to develop a clash free, coordinated building.
- Collaborating with architects, MEP Engineers, and other trade disciplines.
- Reviewing and incorporating project drawings/specifications into model and shop drawings.
- Work closely with construction management team to ensure drawings convey correct information.
- Identify potential problems with design intent quickly and present cost-effective solutions.
- Field surveys as required for renovation work.
- Work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter, motivated and detail oriented.
- Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, conformance with standards.
- Report to supervisor on status of work, work load, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment. A familiar knowledge of sheet metal and plumbing systems is desired
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
- Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
- Certification from a recognized Revit training facility is preferred.
- Able to contribute in design review process and offer value engineering solutions.
