Hospital Staff Pharmacist - PRN

Schedule: PRN, as needed during normal pharmacy operations (0630-1730 Mon-Fri and 0700-1530 weekends)

This position performs functions of the Pharmacy Department in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies. 

• Monitors all orders on patient profiles for appropriateness, accuracy, drug allergies, interactions and

         incompatibilities

• Reviews all medication orders prior to dispensing
• Responsible for drug, strength, schedule and form of medications that go in patient bins/dispensing cabinets at nursing care areas
• Provides drug information to providers, other health care personnel, and patients
• Supervises the activities of supportive personnel
• Fills employee and outpatient prescriptions as promptly as workload permits
• Must be familiar with clinical programs and capable of effectively participating in them
• Assists with quality assurance activities
• Assists the Manager
• Prepares IV admixtures, adhering to regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs monthly controlled substance inventory
• Acts as system administrator for automated dispensing equipment
• Supports/promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobial therapy
