A Brief Overview
Performs Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) procedures under the direct supervision of a qualified Electrodiagnostic physician. This includes patient measurement and electrode application, precise recordings, proper equipment adjustment, and testing procedures that reflect patient needs and/or clinical physiology, enabling the physician to make proper interpretations of the study.
What you will do
- • Maintains all registration requirements, including staying current in developments, trends, and techniques in the field of neurodiagnostic procedures and equipment, and being a member of at least one professional neurodiagnostic society. • Performs high-quality Nerve Conduction procedures according to policy and procedures, and is open to further training, such as Autonomic nervous system (ANS) test training, as required. • Prepares patients for testing according to policy and procedures and provides direct patient care and support services as directed by patient need. • Adheres to all policies and procedures and participates in all mandatory programs. • Ensures documentation is accurate and complete and performs a variety of clerical tasks. • Utilizes effective communication skills in all interpersonal interactions with physicians, clinical staff, fellow employees, hospital staff, and the public.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED, Training in Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) Knowledge of medical terminology. Required
- RNCST (Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist) certification, but individuals working towards formal certification will also be considered. Preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience Neurodiagnostic Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) testing. Required
