Regional One Health Extended Care Hospital (LTAC) is currently seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
JOB SUMMARY: Provides respiratory care therapy and treatments to patients, with emphasis in critical care or specialty areas, with deficiencies of the cardio-pulmonary system as ordered in accordance with established standards and practices.
REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an approved AMA Respiratory Therapy program. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the neonate, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates. . Exhibits knowledge of respiratory care as skills and maintain clinical competency to administer therapeutic gases, aerosol treatments and EKGs as directed. Demonstrates skill in the use of applicable equipment; mature judgment and initiative required; shows professional interest through self-development, continuing education, and involvement in professional organizations; presents a positive attitude and professional appearance. Ability to give and follow written and oral instructions; ability to communicate effectively with others; ability to react and perform under stress in emergency situations; ability to effectively record and reflect observations; ability to exercise analytical judgment on work to be done.
One or more years of RRT experience in an ICU setting is preferred
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: TN state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Current CPR certification, ACLS within one year.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, pushing and bending; subject to hazards of flammable and explosive gases; frequent exposure to infectious agents; ability to set-up, operate and maintain support machines. Medium Work - Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.")
