What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Grants Accountant position at Regional One Health?
A Brief Overview
The Senior Grants Accountant is responsible for the post-award financial management for a portfolio of sponsored programs awarded Regional One Health and all affiliated companies. The duties of this position include review and reconciliation of invoices and various financial reports, account review and analysis, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, expenditure monitoring and other duties as assigned. The Senior Grants Accountant will also be responsible for tracking all grants contracts for timely submission and be able to properly communicate to their leadership & those departments which received the award who are charged with the appropriate management of them the status of those grants. The Senior Grants Accountant is expected to be familiar with and maintain compliance with GASB & FASB Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as any applicable regulatory standards and requirements associated with the company. The employee is expected to maintain confidentiality commiserate to the sensitive information that they are privy to in their role as a Senior Grants Accountant and to act in a professional manner as defined by the company's premier expectations. The ideal candidate will be an excellent and effective communicator with any person within the organization and any of its affiliates, vendors, business partners, and the community at large. The candidate should also have the ability to effectively manage their time and meet deadlines with minimal oversite from management. In addition to this, the candidate, must be able to demonstrate their ability to document, track, and communicate, their progress on the work & projects they are assigned to and to be able to notify management of any issues that have arisen within a reasonable timeframe so as to allow management to intervene if necessary. Self-betterment is actively encouraged and the expectation is that the employee will be able to effectively express their opinion and propose solutions to problems that either are self-identified, or assigned to them as is commiserate with their role.

- Responsible for tracking all grants contracts for timely submission and be able to properly communicate to their leadership & those departments which received the award who are charged with the appropriate management of them the status of those grants.
- Responsible for General Accounting functions as assigned by leadership including but not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, and variance review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Required and
- Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance Preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience in grants accounting in a governmental or non-profit organization Required
