Middle School Science Teacher - Grade 7
Located a ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, Loranger Memorial School is a 270 student, grades 3-8 School within RSU 23 seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to join our Grade 7 team for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate should possess the following:
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Citizenship, residency or work visa
- Maintains or is eligible for Maine Department of Education Teaching Certification for Middle Level Science (340) or equivalent (350 or 395)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards and Maine Learning Results
In-depth understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment as it relates to proficiency-based education
Extensive knowledge and skills in middle level instructional practices
Willingness to collaborate with teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure highly effective educational programming for all students
- Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous, relevant, and differentiated instruction to students of varying abilities
- Experience with BARR (Building Assets Reducing Risks) preferred, or other system of MTSS
Ability to integrate technology to support and enhance instruction
Knowledge and experience utilizing PBIS strategies to manage the classroom
Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom
Ability to effectively engage all students in relevant, inquiry-based learning experiences
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders within the school community
One section of middle level social studies is also part of the teaching assignment
