What are the responsibilities and job description for the MACE Part-Time Student Advisor Long Term Substitute March-June position at Regional School Unit 57?
Massabesic Adult and Community Education has the following vacancy for your consideration:
POSITION: LONG-TERM SUB - Part-Time Student Advisor - Evenings
DURATION: Approximately mid-March through mid-June
REPORTS TO: MACE Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
2. Experience in guidance counseling or similar discipline preferred.
3. Past experience in student or customer facing positions preferred.
4. Willing and able to engage meaningfully with high school aged students and adults.
WORKING HOURS: Part-time evenings; Monday-Thursday, 3:30-8:30 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Meets with prospective students, completes program intake procedure.
2. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
3. Assists with setup and implementation of evening programming.
4. Uses information from intake, assessments, and inventories to place students in the appropriate academic setting, tutoring sessions, and/or elective programs based on students’ identified needs, interests, and plans.
5. Assists the Director with test proctoring as needed.
6. Works with students to ensure proper course and/or career credentialing program completion.
7. Provides guidance to students as they search for higher education and career opportunities.
8. Follow-up regularly with students on academic progress.
9. Other duties as assigned.
