Waterboro Elementary is seeking a full time elementary Ed Tech for MTSS-B Intervention
REPORTS TO: Principal and Assistant Principal
Program Overview:
The CLIMB Program (Creating Learning Experiences that Foster Innovative and Mindful Behaviors) is a regular education program designed for students with an MTSS-B Tier II or III plan who require support in developing self-regulation, executive functioning, and social skills in larger group settings. The goal of CLIMB is to help students achieve independent success in the mainstream classroom by providing behavioral instruction, coaching, and structured support.
Position Overview:
The Educational Technician in the CLIMB Program works under the guidance of a certified teacher and school leadership to support students in both structured (academic lessons, specials) and unstructured settings (lunch, recess, transitions). This role involves implementing behavioral strategies, providing instructional support, and reinforcing social-emotional learning goals to foster student growth and success.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students in small-group and individual settings, reinforcing behavioral, executive functioning, and social-emotional skills as outlined in their Tier II or III plans.
Assist with instructional activities using evidence-based curricula, implementing strategies that support students in their mainstream and CLIMB-based academic instruction.
Coach and cue students throughout the school day to encourage emotional regulation, positive behavior, and engagement in learning.
Collect and document data on student progress, tracking behavioral and academic growth to inform interventions and adjustments.
Implement interventions and accommodations such as Check-In/Check-Out and other individualized strategies as outlined in student plans.
Support communication between staff and students, sharing observations and collaborating to promote student success.
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administration to assess student needs and adjust supports accordingly.
Participate in CLIMB team meetings and contribute to discussions on student progress and program improvements.
Model and reinforce appropriate social skills and classroom expectations, maintaining a structured and positive learning environment.
Prepare materials and assist with classroom organization to support instruction and student engagement.
Follow district policies and procedures to maintain accurate records, uphold student confidentiality, and support school-wide expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of students and the CLIMB Program.
Qualifications:
Minimum of Educational Technician certification (Level II or III preferred).
Experience working with students in an educational or behavioral support setting is preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to implement behavioral strategies and provide in-the-moment coaching.
Understanding of MTSS-B framework, executive functioning, and social-emotional learning is a plus.
This role is essential in helping students develop the skills they need to succeed in mainstream classrooms.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, climb stairs, lift (ranging from 25-75 lbs depending on student size), bend, pull, push, walk, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical tasks that may be required from time to time.
Terms of Employment: Salary, work year and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.
