What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer (Wilmington, NC) position at Regional Security?
Unarmed and Armed Security Officer positions available ($18/hour)
Weeknights and weekend shifts available
Off-duty Law Enforcement and active-duty Military or Veterans - strongly preferred
*where off-duty security employment is permitted by agency policy
Requirements:
Must be available to work weeknights and weekend days or nights, the majority of every month, and serve on call.
Must be 18 years or older (21 years or older, Armed Guard, per NC state law)
Valid North Carolina DL and clean driving record
Must complete NC-required security training and minimum 90% weapon(s) qualification (Armed)
Must be able to pass SBI background check, drug screening, etc.
The contract requires officers wearing uniform, duty belt, and body armor (Armed) to be seated, standing, walking, and climbing stairs, inside or outside, up to 50 min per hour in all weather.
Have critical thinking skills and the ability to work through complex problems
Possess a high degree of professionalism, responsibility, and maturity
Ability to communicate, persuade, and instruct others during high-stress situations
**Applicants with experience in security, mounted/dismounted patrolling, detainee handling, weapons handling and weapon instructions, non-lethal experience/certified - strongly preferred
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 25 per week
