The Communications Intern, a member of the Public Relations and Engagement staff, will work with the Internal Communications team to execute employee-focused communication activities for RTD. These can include, but are not limited to, researching, writing and editing internal-facing content such as employee profiles and informational updates; creating videos and taking photos for storytelling purposes; assisting with agency wide information sessions; and helping maintain internal public information displays and RTD’s employee intranet.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
ESSENTIAL :
- Assists in the development of informational materials for RTD employees and, potentially, the agency’s customers and the public.
- Researches, writes and edits internal-facing material.
- Assists with the development, coordination and implementation of various internal communications strategies and activities.
- Manages, coordinates and implements projects for the Public Relations and Community Engagement teams, as assigned.
- Assists with organizing information for RTD’s internal publications, Inside Connections and the Hot Sheet, and may also contribute material to the agency’s online newsroom, the News Stop, and social media sites.
- May meet with colleagues at times that may fall outside a traditional daytime work schedule for this position, given the agency’s 24 / 7 operational nature.
- Collaborates with colleagues across the agency to obtain information.
- May assist with occasional evening and weekend events, as assigned.
OTHER :
All other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Current student in good standing seeking a college degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a closely related field.
