The Public Relations and Engagement Division Intern works with the Public Relations and Engagement staff in the daily public relations and community engagement activities for RTD, which can include, but not limited to, content development, researching, drafting and writing general public information pieces such as news releases, newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, articles, social media posts and other items as needed; creating videos, taking photos and assisting in the implementation of public programs and events. This person will also manage and participate in outreach and engagement events with the Community Engagement team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
ESSENTIAL :
- Assists in the development of collateral materials, articles, fact sheets and other informational materials.
- Researches material for news releases : assists in writing, formatting, editing and proofing.
- Manages and responds to email requests and questions that are received in the public relations inbox.
- Assists with daily news clips.
- Assists with the development, coordination and implementation of various public relations / media relations / engagement campaigns to address transit-related issues.
- Manages, coordinates and implements assigned RTD engagement / outreach projects.
- Assists with organizing information for the RTD online newsroom, the News Stop, and social media sites.
- Assists with maintenance of the metro-area and national contact information, government agency, and neighborhood group lists.
- Assists with organizing and maintaining the public relations / government relations shared drive, and different contact lists.
- Assists with occasional evening and weekend events.
OTHER :
All other job-related duties as assigned.
