What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider - Special Events Medicine position at Regions Hospital?
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating care of high acuity patients in order to expedite treatment and /or transportation to the ED
- communicating with other event medical staff and assigning patient care needs
- Communicating with the EMS and police personnel as necessary
- Observing, participating and managing overall patient care to facilitate care and resolve issues or potential problems.
The ALS Provider may provide work direction to BLS care providers; perform and document dependent functions such as carrying out EMS Medical Directors medical orders and perform diagnostic and treatment procedures; provide a safe environment; coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, family, EMS personnel and other health professionals.
The ALS Provider will be required to demonstrate all ALS Provider Competencies for event medicine providers as prescribed by the Office of the EMS Medical Director within 3 months of hire.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Paramedic certified by the State of MN EMSRB -OR- licensed RN in the State of MN with critical care or ED experience -OR- licensed RN in the state of MN with current MN EMT certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- Successful completion of Paramedic education program
- Two years of clinical experience in an emergency medical setting
