What are the responsibilities and job description for the ED Crisis Social Worker Per Diem position at Regions Hospital?
JOB DESCRIPTION
The ED Crisis Social Worker plays an integral role with the care we provide to our patients and to our community! As an ED Crisis Social Worker, you will work independently to conduct diagnostic assessments for patients who present to the Emergency Department who have serious or persistent mental illness or are experiencing psychiatric emergencies; this includes treatment planning, referrals and determining clinical interventions for patients and families. The position also works with patients who are victims of domestic, elder or child abuse, patients with substance use and other psycho-social emergencies and get them connected with the appropriate support in an outpatient setting. The ED Crisis Social Worker provides crisis intervention, education, and supportive therapies as appropriate within the Emergency Department setting and collaborates with patient’s family and community care teams to develop a safe transition/discharge plan to the community.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work (MSW)
- 2 or more years of social work experience in mental health setting and/or health care setting
- LICSW with the Minnesota Board of Social Work
