Summary
The Young School of Nursing, Weston Campus Program is seeking applicants for a part-time Assistant Professor, within the Doctor of Nursing Practice program for the 2025-2026 academic year. Candidates must possess the ability to teach a broad range of courses in a hybrid learning modality. Primary responsibilities include teaching nursing students admitted at various entry points (for example, bachelor’s degree through post-master’s); advising students; course evaluation and development in a hybrid environment; committee work; and service to the department, university, and community at large. A doctoral degree in nursing or related field (e.g., DNP / PhD / EdD) is required, unencumbered nursing licensure, RN, in Massachusetts is required. Reports to the DNP Program Director and works collaboratively with the Dean of Nursing, Associate Dean of Nursing, and with Graduate Program Directors.
Essential Functions :
Administrative
Tracks professional state level and national trends and requirements related to the program and implementing as appropriate.
Participates in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new faculty.
Provides administrative support to other faculty teaching in the program.
Facilitates the production of printed and electronic marketing material.
Participates with recruitment, selection, and orientation of new students; include attending virtual open houses as needed.
Fosters beneficial relationships with professionals including other colleges / universities, community leaders, professional organizations, and other entities as appropriate.
Provides summary of course, course revisions, faculty and preceptor / mentor evaluation to the DNP Program Director, Weston Campus.
Curriculum
Teaches in the program.
Coordinates aspects of curriculum implementation, including course development and program advancement.
Assistants the DNP Program Director in maintenance of current accurate syllabi for courses.
Provides advising support to students in the program.
Ensures that Weston DNP courses are aligned with Online DNP courses including rubrics, major assignments, etc.
Assist in coordination of aspects of DNP curriculum evaluation.
Facilitates program outcome assessment data.
Mentors’ faculty to maintain quality curriculum.
Participates in ongoing accreditation processes.
Participates in the revision of program policies.
Collaborates with DNP Program Director, Assistant and Associate Deans, and Dean of Nursing in program planning and development.
Other responsibilities as designated by the DNP Program Director, Assistant and Associate Deans of Nursing, and Dean of Nursing.
Other Responsibilities :
Cooperating in the attainment of the purposes of the College by conducting classes as scheduled with adequate preparation for each course, for the full length of the time prescribed (Included are the first and last days of each semester).
Abiding by the final exam schedule as published annually by the Office of the Registrar.
Notifying the DNP Program Director when absent from class; if absence is due to illness, notification should continue for each day of the duration.
Evaluating student achievement in course work; directing and reading student papers and reports; issuing and clearing “I” grades in accordance with the policy in the
Posting and observing office hours for consultation and guidance of students at times convenient for them for a minimum of three hours per week (per course) as posted or by appointment.
Submitting all required reports in accordance with administrative and office procedure
Attending all Regis College faculty meetings, SON faculty meetings, DNP faculty meetings and workshops, (if absent, notify the DNP Program Director in advance of the meeting).
Contributing to the improvement and development of good public relations.
Attending Commencement and Convocations called by the College.
Supervisory Responsibility :
As indicated in essential job functions.
Qualifications
Requirements :
A doctoral degree in nursing or related field (e.g., DNP / PhD / EdD) is required. Candidates who specialize in any of the following are particularly encouraged to apply : nursing education, psychiatric nursing, and research methodologies.
Unencumbered nursing licensure, RN, in Massachusetts, is required.
Ability to place the history and practice of the field within broader conversations concerning diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
Demonstrated evidence of at least three years prior teaching experience at the graduate level with expertise in high impact teaching practices.
Demonstrated experience with designing curriculum and teaching graduate nurses is highly desired.
Demonstrated evidence of in person and online teaching and course development experience.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues.
Demonstrated familiarity with academic assessment, particularly at the course level.
Familiarity with the learning management system Moodle is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands :
Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.
