Description

Summary

 

The Center for Inclusive Excellence (CIE) seeks to foster a culture and campus community in which all types of diversity are valued, engaged with, have access, and contribute to the holistic development of community members and the institutional excellence of the University. The Graduate Intern for Inclusive Excellence is a 30 hour/week position with the opportunity to continue in a position that promotes developmental and professional learning while pursuing a graduate degree. The graduate intern works to support the CIE through program development and research in partnership with other departments.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

Center for Inclusive Excellence

 

  • Office administration and program development - Assist with the logistics, administration, and management of the CIE; effectively manage the CIE space and collaboration requests from campus partners and students; support the maintenance and organization of CIE marketing communications, including email and social media; assist with front office support, event/program development, and reserving spaces on campus.
  • Curriculum development - Support the creation and facilitation of training materials for faculty, staff, and students; help develop systems and processes to ensure that community members regularly engage in diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
  • Research - Ongoing involvement in research projects undertaken around institutional diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) assessments, including participating in data collection and analysis, and keeping abreast of current research in the field.
  • CIE representative - Represent the CIE at campus and community meetings as well as external conferences and events; participate in CIE team meetings and Inclusive Excellence Council meetings; serve on institution-wide committees for programs and events; jump in to help with CIE programs as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Residence Life Responsibilities

 

  • Train in incident management and crisis protocol with the Office of Residence Life.
  • Serve as a member of the Professional Staff On-Duty (PSOD) rotation. Rotation consistency is variable and agreed upon at the beginning of each semester. Responsibilities include:
    • Respond to on-campus issues or concerns as they arise, facilitate response with appropriate parties, serve as support staff to resident assistants and Campus Police wherever needed, and submit incident reports when needed.
    • Communicate with appropriate campus offices regarding the welfare of residents.
    • Complete and distribute duty log by 9am for weekday duties.
  • Participate in regular Residence Life meetings, including Tuesday morning staff meetings and any trainings related to on-call policies or procedures.
     

Qualifications


Requirements:

 

  • You must be accepted, provisionally or fully, into an eligible Regis College graduate program.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • You have strong administrative skills.
  • You demonstrate an ability to uphold the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
  • You have an interest/experience in working with students, in education, and customer service.
  • You are willing to work some evening and weekend hours with advance notice.

 

 

Salary & Benefits:

 

  • $6,000 stipend per year (12-month). 
  • Room (housing) and full meal plan.
  • Tuition remission for two (2) eligible Regis graduate courses/semester, with a maximum of six graduate courses (18 credits) per academic year.
    • The following campus-based programs are eligible for tuition remission:
      • 60 credits of MA in Counseling (24 credits are not covered by tuition remission. The supervised field experience must be completed after the graduate intern role is complete.)
      • 33 credits of MS in Regulatory and Clinical Research Management
      • 30 credits of MS in Digital Marketing and Communications
    • The following fully online programs qualify for tuition remission on a space-available basis:
      • 33 credits of MS in Health Administration
      • 42 credits of Master of Public Health (6 credits are not covered by tuition remission
      • 30 credits of Master of Social Work.
    • Courses in Graduate Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Speech Language Pathology, and Doctor of Education programs are not eligible for tuition remission.

NOTE: The Graduate Intern position is a temporary appointment of not greater than two-years. Employment is At-Will subject to satisfactory job performance and the needs of Regis College. For employees in good standing, there is the opportunity to renew for an additional academic period of work and study.

 

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

 

  • Conditions include a normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc 
  • Some evening and weekend work with advanced notice is required.
  • Staff will work indoors and outdoors.
  • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
  • Provide assistance during major campuses events (e.g., convocation, commencement, weather-related emergencies).
