Job Title: Case Manager/Job Development Specialist
Job Summary:
The Case Manager/Job Development Specialist plays a vital role in assisting returning citizens with their rehabilitation, reintegration, and job development. Under the supervision of the Facility Director, this position is responsible for case management, employment readiness, and community resource coordination. The ideal candidate will utilize counseling skills, therapeutic knowledge, and job development strategies to support returning citizens in securing employment, developing life skills, and complying with program expectations.
Parameters of the Position:Case Management
The Case Manager operates within a rehabilitative framework to assist individuals in their re-entry process, which includes but is not limited to:
- Providing individual and group counseling.
- Implementing specialized habilitation methods.
- Utilizing community and employment resources.
- Managing residents while ensuring accountability and control.
Job Development Specialist
The Case Manager also functions as a Job Development Specialist, responsible for:
- Maintaining a job database, developing new job leads, and assessing job readiness.
- Verifying employment through correspondence, phone calls, and field visits.
- Utilizing counseling skills and therapeutic knowledge to establish job development programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of up to 35 returning citizens.
- Conduct program orientation and ensure compliance with rules and expectations.
- Develop and monitor individualized re-entry plans.
- Provide one-on-one counseling to support release planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes, reports, and client progress data.
- Organize and distribute resident schedules as required by contract guidelines.
- Assist in planning, developing, and implementing resident and operational programs.
- Conduct Life Skills Enhancement classes on a weekly basis.
- Implement disciplinary procedures as directed.
- Prepare and submit reports to criminal justice agencies with Director approval.
- Establish relationships with businesses, social service agencies, and job placement organizations.
- Educate employers on program benefits and employment support services.
- Research and identify job opportunities through various channels.
- Match job skills with client qualifications and facilitate job placement.
- Maintain an updated database of job fairs, resume resources, and employment trends.
- Coordinate and attend job fairs, outreach, and recruitment events.
- Transport clients to interviews, job fairs, and other appointments.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Conduct home and field visits with clients, families, and employers (up to 100 miles from the facility).
- Provide court testimony when required.
- Utilize the SecurManage system for maintaining electronic case records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant human services experience (equivalent work experience may substitute for education).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to create reports and charts independently.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and a reliable vehicle.
- Familiarity with the surrounding area and willingness to travel up to 100 miles for work-related duties.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must pass an NCIC criminal background check after a conditional offer of employment.
- Employees will be fingerprinted and investigated by the Bureau of Prisons or designated agencies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,000.00 per year
