What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehab Practitioner position at Rehabilitation Support Services, Inc.?
An opening exists in our Capital District PROS Program for an ORS Rehabilitation Practitioner. The position is full-time Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility and some occasional on-call responsibilities.
The PROS program is a person-centered, recovery-oriented model that serves adults recovering from mental illness. This particular Practitioner position is focused on assisting individuals with sustaining competitive employment and maintaining a healthy work/life balance. This Practitioner will be providing services mostly in the community. Therefore, the qualified applicant will have an active NYS driver's license and a reliable vehicle. RSS does reimburse on the job mileage on a monthly basis.
Qualified candidates must have at least an undergraduate degree and a minimum of 1 year experience providing direct service relating to the care or treatment of persons with a designated mental illness.
Applicants should be extremely organized, dependable, and able to carry out and prioritize multiple ongoing tasks. The qualified candidate will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to the provision of group and one-to-one psych rehab services designed to assist participants in addressing mental health barriers in order to achieve life role goals. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. The ability to multitask and meet deadlines, including accurate and timely completion of all documentation is also required. An understanding of the PROS model and the principles of psychiatric rehabilitation are a plus.
