Position Overview:
RHS is currently seeking a compassionate and qualified Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) to join our team. Peer Support Specialists play a vital role in providing encouragement, hope, and support to individuals seeking recovery from mental illness. By sharing personal experiences and knowledge, CPSS professionals foster meaningful, supportive relationships with clients and empower them to achieve their recovery goals.

In addition to working with clients directly, Certified Peer Support Specialists often collaborate with Case Management and CBRS services to offer integrated care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer peer support to individuals seeking recovery by sharing lived experiences and providing motivation and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers and CBRS services to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
  • Encourage and help clients set and achieve goals related to their recovery.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, providing guidance in an ethical and supportive manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in line with organizational requirements.
  • Uphold the principles of recovery-oriented services, focusing on hope, respect, and empowerment.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) with current certification.
  • At least one year of lived experience with mental illness and recovery.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and be computer literate.
  • Reliable transportation with insurance and ability to pass a background check with the Department of Health and Welfare (DHW).
  • Possess impeccable ethics, professionalism, and the ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or in mental health services is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the local community and available resources is beneficial.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
