Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant
Clinic Hours: Rehm Animal Clinic at Timber Run is open 7am - 6pm, M-F and 7am- 12pm on Saturdays.
Job Type: Full-time
Total Compensation Package Incudes:
- $14.00 to $18.00/hour ** Pay rate is based on experience. Pay could be more, if skill sets are demonstrable at expert level and/or a Licensed Technician with proven skill set.

Qualifications:
- Alabama Registered/Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred
- Prior veterinary experience required; 2 years of previous small animal experience
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of integrity: able to maintain highest ethical standards, personal responsibility and accountability and confidentiality of clients, doctors, and all staff.
- Follows and upholds the veterinary technology profession’s ethical codes.

PATIENT EXAMINATIONS: Proficiency in basic parameters of small animal health and can recognize variations from normal. Can determine and know normal values of TPR and auscultate heart and lungs using a stethoscope.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: Ability to recognize small animal emergency situations and have a basic understanding of emergency treatment protocols, including; assisting in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, placing an intravenous catheter, apply temporary bandages and instituting hemostasis.
