What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Counselor position at Rehoboth Beach?
Rehoboth Beach Country Club is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Camp Counselors to support our summer Kids Camp Program for children ages 4 to 13. The position is seasonal and runs from June 6th to August 29th.The ideal candidate will work closely with the Camp Coordinator to ensure a safe, engaging, and fun experience for all campers. This role requires high energy, a positive attitude, and a passion for working with kids in a structured yet exciting environment.Key Responsibilities : Supervise and actively engage with campers, always ensuring their safety and well-being.Assist the Camp Coordinator in planning and leading a variety of recreational activities, including sports, arts & crafts, outdoor games, and team-building exercises.Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment where all campers feel welcome and encouraged to participate.Help facilitate daily camp routines, including check-in / check-out procedures, snack times, and transitions between activities.Ensure proper use of camp equipment and maintain a clean and organized camp area.Act as a role model for campers by demonstrating respect, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.Communicate effectively with fellow counselors, staff, and parents when needed.Respond to emergency situations calmly and appropriately, following club safety procedures.Qualifications & Skills : Previous experience working with children in a camp, recreational, or educational setting is preferred.High-energy, outgoing personality with a passion for creating fun and engaging experiences.Strong leadership and communication skills.Ability to work well in a team environment.First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before the start of camp).Must be at least 16 years old.Work Schedule & Compensation : Seasonal position with varying hours based on camp schedule.Must be available weekdays, holidays and some weekends as needed.PIa49bb8e0df70-35216-37004749
