We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in a preschool setting. The COTA will work part-time to provide high-quality therapy services, supporting the development of fine motor, sensory processing, and functional play skills in young children. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with occupational therapists, educators, and families to ensure a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for every child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist (OT) to address goals related to fine motor skills, sensory integration, and self-care.
- Conduct therapy sessions in individual, small group, or classroom settings.
- Utilize play-based and developmentally appropriate activities to promote skill acquisition.
- Document therapy sessions, progress, and observations accurately and timely, adhering to professional and legal standards.
- Communicate effectively with OTs, teachers, parents, and other team members to support the child’s progress.
- Assist in the selection and adaptation of tools, toys, and materials to facilitate therapy sessions.
- Provide education and recommendations to parents and caregivers to reinforce therapy strategies at home.
- Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Active state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in [State Name].
