Central Sterilization Tech- $1500 Sign-on-Bonus - Operating Room
Position Summary: The Central Sterilization Technician is responsible to the Director of Surgical Services, the OR Supervisor, and the Preoperative and PACU Registered Nurses. The Central Sterilization Technician performs all aspects of the sterilization process including decontamination, assembly, packaging, and the biological and chemical monitoring of the sterilizers. Acts as a resource to the operating room staff. Responsible for requisitioning all autoclaving supplies, instruments and implantable devices used in the daily operation of the department. The Central Sterilization Technician is responsible for completing all duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience:
At least two (2) years of experience as a Central Sterilization Technician in a hospital or surgery center preferred.
Required Licensure/Certification(s):
Sterile Processing Technician Certification preferred.
Current verification in Basic Life Support required (If not current upon hire, must be obtained within three (3) months of hire).
