Monitor Tech - Med/Surg/Pediatrics Position Summary:The Monitor Technician is responsible to the Unit Director and Registered Nurses in the department to collect data, enter laboratory and radiology requests into the computer, completes duties consistent with secretarial duties of the Nursing Department, monitors the cardiac display, records, detects, and reports the abnormal rhythms to the RN’s. The Monitor Technician is responsible for all duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience:
At least one (1) year experience as a patient care technician preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and clerical skills.
Required Licensure/Certification(s):
Current verification in Basic Life Support (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, must be obtained within 3 months of hire).
CNA certification preferred.
